This is a term time post and the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked.
West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit a Lead Early Learning & Childcare Officer in Levenvale Primary School Early Learning & Childcare Centre. The role of this post is to lead and support the leadership and management of a flexible, high-quality, child-centred service that meets the needs of children and their families.
Contribute to the provision of a safe, caring, and stimulating nursery environment for all children.
Contribute to and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance. Plan, record, implement, and evaluate suitable programmes of activities.
Monitor and record children’s developmental progress through effective assessment practices. Promote and support parental participation and engagement.
It is essential that you have relevant supervisory experience working with pre-five children in an appropriate setting. You should have experience in curriculum planning and delivery, alongside a strong commitment to developing parental involvement.
Applicants must have a sound knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre-Birth to Three guidance, as well as a clear understanding of child development.

environment. Therefore, a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to change are essential.
It is essential that you hold a BA in Childhood Practice (or equivalent) and be registered with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) or gain this within 6 months of appointment. Further information on the role is contained within the job profile.
Requirements
This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
