1 x 26 hours per week, Term Time

Temporary to 19 December 2025

£29,010 - £29,594 / £30,251 - £30,871 pro rata

£15.90 - £16.22 / £16.58 - £16.92 per hour

The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance

Suitable candidates are sought for the above vacancies for Support for Learning Assistant to work in Kirkwall Grammar school. As a member of the school team you will be expected to work with pupils, colleagues and parents.

We require candidates to have experience in working with young people and to be committed to supporting, encouraging and including all children in achieving their potential.

To be appointed at grade D:

You should have a good general standard education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy and there is a requirement to achieve a SCQF level 5 qualification - e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in relevant subject area within 3 years of taking up post.

To be appointed at grade E

You should have a good general standard education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy and hold a SCQF level 5 qualification - e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in relevant subject area.

This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children.
