Teacher of Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies

35 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Temporary to 16 August 2026

KGS is a modern, vibrant school of around 850 pupils with a catchment area which covers Kirkwall, the East Mainland, Orphir and the North and South Isles.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is committed to improvement and excellence to join our Faculty of Social Subjects. You will be able to build positive relationships with young people and support them effectively to make progress and achieve their potential.

Our school is in housed a modern and attractive building and has a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer. We are well-supported by our wider community.

You will be able to teach all aspects of the relevant subject across all stages and will be keen to develop links beyond the school to support young people in applying their skills including within the world of work.

You must be registered, or in the process of registering, with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

Salary will be based on the Main Grade Scale of the SNCT Salary Tables plus a Distant Islands Allowance. We offer a generous relocation package.
