Randstad Education is working with a specialist school in Cambridge to recruit an inspiring SEN Teacher (QTS) who is committed to making a real difference.

The school caters to students aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. We need support for the children with a broad spectrum of needs ranging from ASD, ADHD, and FASD to anxiety and challenges with communication, cognition, and learning.

The appointed teacher will teach all designated subjects for KS2 and KS3, creating lessons that are thoughtfully planned to accommodate the varied learning needs of the class.

This is a full time permanent position and you will be required to support five days a week Monday - Friday inline with school hours 08.30am - 04.00pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons for pupils with SEN
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and specialists to support individual needs
  • Monitor progress and provide clear, targeted feedback
  • Use appropriate strategies and resources to aid learning and engagement
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour in line with the SEN Behaviour Policy

Preferred Skills:

  • Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Successful Primary School Teaching experience
  • A good knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils needs

Personal Attributes:

  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with the students.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • Have experience with SEND or knowledge learning difficulties.
  • Experience up to key stage 2/3
  • A fully Qualified teacher (QTS)
