Summary
Lewisham Local works with community organisations in the borough, helping them to strengthen their organisation and build their capacity. Volunteering is a vital function for groups and organisations and the Volunteering Support Coordinator will work with the Lewisham council team to continue to develop an employee volunteering programme for council employees offering much needed time, skills and knowledge in volunteering hours to community groups in Lewisham. You will support employees and individuals to access volunteering opportunities contributing to a more sustainable Lewisham voluntary sector.
You will be a confident communicator, able to support community groups and individuals on a 1-1 basis as well as facilitating workshops and networking events. You will have a keen interest in the local community and have ideas and energy to help our charity connect with and support more local people. You will also support local community organisations to develop their volunteering roles that they post.
