Summary

Teaching: The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering clinical teaching sessions to Newcastle University medical students attached to Newcastle Hospitals. The Trust has a role in the delivery of teaching to all 5 years of the undergraduate MBBS programme but most of the teaching will be delivered to students in years 3, 4 and 5. As well as delivering fixed commitments within the programme it is hoped Teaching Fellows will develop their own innovative ideas for clinical teaching during their time with us. The Trust Undergraduate Team consists of a group of enthusiastic Clinicians under the leadership of Deputy Director of Medical Education (UG) Dr Ian Baxter, supported by Teaching Fellow Lead Dr Andrew Stanton and an invaluable team of administrative staff. We will offer support and supervision over the year as well as training and mentorship so that you develop your own teaching skills and understanding of wider issues in medical education. As well as being offered in-house induction and training, the post holder will also be supported to undertake a Certificate of Clinical Education as part of this post. For more information about Undergraduate Teaching and an overview of the Newcastle University MBBS degree programme visit http://www.ncl.ac.uk/mbbs/ or contact Dr Andrew Stanton: Andrew.Stanton@nhs.net.
