Requirements
You will have a degree - Energy Management / Facilities Management / Building Services or equivalent qualification relevant to post.Responsibilities
You will assist with the effective procurement and consumption of energy and water in the City Council’s properties in accordance with the City Council’s sustainability policies and best practice. You will contribute to the provision of a full energy management service including property inspection and reporting, works supervision, contract procurement and monitoring and targeting regime (including energy supply). You will communicate the aims and objectives of the City Council energy policy to staff, customers and service suppliers.The Individual
You will have relevant post energy management qualification experience, the ability to identify problems and come up with innovative cost effective solutions, to produce clear and concise technical and non-technical reports.You will have functional experience and practical knowledge of energy and water efficiency; current regulations and best practice and energy and water procurement technique, functional experience and practical knowledge of control and building management systems; building fabric; building services; energy and water installations and design criteria.
You will have the ability to contribute to the development, implementation and refreshing of the ongoing awareness and motivation programme, full understanding of energy surveying / auditing techniques.
You will have good knowledge of climate change challenges and possible solutions, of renewable energy technologies, current energy policies and future funding streams and current computer software packages.
You will have experience of energy and water metering, monitoring and reporting, of making presentations and or delivering training.
In addition, you will have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues and external organisations. Good written and verbal communication skills, willingness to develop new skills, being capable of working under pressure and willing to adapt and will be capable of organizing workload is also essential.
You will be willing to undertake training and diagnostic skills.
