Teaching Assistant (KS1 Focus)
Support Young Learners in Key Stage 1 Education in St. Helens

We are currently seeking a Level 2 (or above) Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school in St. Helens, working specifically within Key Stage 1 (KS1).
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children build strong foundations in their early school years—whether you have experience in primary classrooms or other child-focused settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils aged 5–7 years in their daily learning and development
Assist the class teacher with phonics, literacy, and numeracy-based activities
Contribute to engaging, structured learning activities in line with the KS1 curriculum
Monitor children’s progress and contribute to assessments and observations
Help create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Promote independence, confidence, and social interaction among pupils
Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to support the needs of the whole class
Candidate Requirements:
Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3) – desirable but not essential
Eligible to work in the UK
Experience working with young children in the last 2 years – in school or alternative child-focused settings such as clubs, youth groups, or sports coaching
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Two professional references relating to work with children
A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
