Level 2 Teaching Assistant (EYFS Focus)

We are currently seeking a Level 2 (or above) Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school in St. Helens, working specifically within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey—whether you have classroom experience or a background in nursery settings, childcare, or other early years-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils aged 3–5 years in their daily learning and development
Assist the class teacher with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
Contribute to play-based and structured learning activities in line with the EYFS framework
Monitor children’s progress and contribute to assessments and observations
Help create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Promote independence, social interaction, and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to support the needs of the whole class

Candidate Requirements:
Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3) – desirable but not essential
Eligible to work in the UK
Experience working with young children in the last 2 years – in school, nursery, or alternative childcare settings such as playgroups or early years clubs
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Two professional references relating to work with children
A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
