Together for Children works on behalf of Sunderland City Council to deliver children's services in the city, which means that local authority continuous service terms and conditions apply.

The SEND Casework Officer role will be to co-ordinate the efficient Needs Assessments process / Annual Review process and associated casework for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

They will provide oversight and undertake casework for young people who require an Education, Health and Care Plan. To liaise with multi-disciplinary agencies, parents and carers to ensure Education Health Care Plans are co-produced to accurately meet the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The role requires the ability to work empathetically in co-production with parents and carers and to work with a high level of accuracy when synthesising information from reports in addition to developing effective collaborative relationships with school leaders. The role also requires an ability to organise priorities line with statutory timescales for assessments and annual reviews.

Interviews are expteced to be held 18.09.25

This position requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
