WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office.
About this opportunity
Joining us as a Senior Technical Application Specialist specialising in Core Platforms you'll play a pivotal role within the area. You'll help address and restore live service on our Pega Cloud estate, spot trends and repeat incidents, taking actions to remove inefficiencies within our Pega applications to prevent incident recurrence and optimise the application experience for our colleagues. Experience of PDC is a must, along with alerting toolsets such as Nexthink and Dynatrace.
What you'll do

Troubleshoot and restores live Pega incidents.

Works with TRMs and Incident Management on fast-paced, high severity incidents.

Identifies root cause and actively owns problem records through to resolution for a permanent fix to prevent incident recurrence.

Reacts accordingly to urgent production issues and proactively engages with TRMs and other Pega Run Engineers to ensure quality of service.

Utilise appropriate tooling to spot opportunities and deliver on our commitment to continual service improvement on our Pega Cloud estate.

Collaborates with other Platform teams on our Pega Cloud estate to drive quality of production implementations and to ensure guardrails are met.

Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems.

Suggests improvements and crafts a plan for a small part of a change management program with input from technical experts.

What you'll need

An extensive Pega technical background both in Pega development and the support of Pega applications in a production environment

A strong incident recovery background with 24/7 on-call experience

A strong Pega technical-lead mindset working with and leading partner colleagues on more complex technical recoveries

Strong problem management skills, identifying patterns and solutions to repeat incidents

Pega CSA certification at a minimum

Experience in alerting and monitoring tools including Nexthink, Dynatrace, Splunk and TWS

Experience in peripheral, supporting applications for Pega including AWS, FileNet and middleware technologies

Experience in working closely with third party suppliers to manage incidents

Experience of Cloud infrastructure / technologies

Experience of PDC, Service Now, Jira and other management toolsets

Experience of change methodologies including Scrum and kanban
-
Ability to build and manage relationships with a wide range of customers of our Platform.

Ability to engage with business colleagues to understand their problems and identify how to turn those into service improvements
