Summary

About us: The role is part of the Vale of Glamorgan, ALN Service, within the Vale of Glamorgan’s Wellbeing and ALN Directorate. The job is working in a well-established Speech Language and Communication team, based in a primary resource base, which is part of a Vale of Glamorgan School.
The role will entail working with pupils form 0-25, within the resource base and across the Vale of Glamorgan through Outreach. You would be part of small but energetic and supportive team who are passionate about supporting pupils with ALN.

About the role:
Pay Details: Level 3: Grade 5, SCP 8 - 12, £25,992 - £27,711 (Pro Rata) with LSA SEN allowance, £13.47 - £14.36ph
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 30 hrs, 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, Term-Time
Main Place of Work: Work would be based in a Vale of Glamorgan School, (Ysgol Y Ddraig) but extend across the Vale of Glamorgan in schools and EY settings.

Opportunities will be given to gain valuable, skills, experience, and training in the area of SLCN. This varied role includes class-based work with the team as well as supporting schools throughout the Vale through our outreach service. Please see the job description for further details.

About you / The successful candidate will, be:
• An excellent practitioner, with a good level of English and Maths and could be a good role model for speech, language, and communication.
• The successful candidate would have an interest and passion for ALN and specifically SLCN.
• Experience of working with pupils of primary age with ALN and specifically Speech and Language barriers to learning and have some knowledge and experience of different strategies and approaches for pupils with ALN would be invaluable.
• The role requires an enthusiastic, team player with a flexible approach and good communication skills, and a desire to work with and inspire other LSAs.
