Summary

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Northwich-based high school as they are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated teaching assistant to support pupils in KS3 on a 1:1 and group basis. This is a full-time long-term temporary contract supporting pupils with general academic requirements and additional learning needs.

Your new role
As a teaching assistant, you will support the KS3 classes, working in collaboration with class teachers to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment for your pupils by getting to know them as individuals, utilising all learning resources available and actively encouraging them to give valid input. You will offer 1:1 and group support across years 7 and 8 in the form of intervention and boosters in core subjects such as Maths, English, Science, History and Geography, including intense 1:1 interventions to lower/mixed ability pupils in a separate classroom to make short fall subjects areas of strength, ensuring that all pupils reach their full academic potential. You will use your initiative within the classroom, identifying which pupils may be struggling and implementing an array of positive behaviour strategies that your pupils respond best to. You will also offer 1:1 support to pupils with ALN and may at times be required to assist within the resource base.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience, and:

  • Experience delivering interventions and boosters in key subjects
  • The ability to effectively manage behaviours
  • Be able to commit to a long-term contract (32.5 hours per week)
  • Having an NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential

What you'll get in return
If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant as well as a wide range of amazing benefits that include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Company pension scheme
  • Long-term contract
  • Full-time hours
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
