We are currently seeking a dedicated & compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school in Belper. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs. In this role, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support, helping each child reach their full potential. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEN


  • Adapt learning resources and strategies to meet individual needs


  • Assist in planning and delivering targeted interventions


  • Support the class teacher with general classroom duties


  • Promote a positive, inclusive environment and encourage pupil engagement


  • Help manage classroom behaviour and support emotional regulation


  • Support children with additional needs during break times and off-site activities


    Minimum Requirements

    To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Experience:

      • At least 1 year of experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care-based setting



      • Qualifications:

        • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential



        • Skills:

          • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs


          • Patience, empathy, and a calm, proactive approach


          • Strong communication and teamwork skills


          • Adaptability to respond to varying needs and behaviours



          • DBS Check:

            • All applicants must hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check (Child & Adult Workforce). If not registered on the update service, the cost may be passed to the applicant Link3 Recruitment is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
