Summary
Expressions of interest are invited for those staff who would be interested in applying for the role of National Safeguarding Lead within Oasis Community Learning.
The role includes:
• Supporting safeguarding across Oasis Academies ensuring that in all aspects of our work policies and practice meet statutory requirements and there is a culture that puts exemplary safeguarding of children and adults at the heart of all we do.
• Working creatively to draw together a diverse range of support plans and agencies across Local Authority areas to meet the needs of Oasis children and families using complex range of skills, experience, and imaginative thinking where a solution is not outlined in defined policies.
• Supporting the development of a culture where ‘safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility’.
The Main Duties & Responsibilities undertaken:
• On-line and in person safeguarding support delivered in a consistent approach across the Oasis Community Learning estate.
• Be the source of safeguarding advice within the Trust and the first point of contact when significant issues arise.
• Shape the safeguarding policies and drive forward a safeguarding strategy ensuring that policy and processes are in line with legislative and organisational vision for 2025-2030.
• Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are reviewed, amended, and updated as necessary and in line with up-to-date statutory guidance.
• Support the effective leadership of safeguarding within the OCL regions as they develop the ‘small operating model’ approach.
Applicants must have:
• Specialist knowledge of the safeguarding legislation in education, including developing training packages to meet statutory requirements,
• A minimum of 3 years Operational experience at leading/supporting safeguarding across a large organisation,
• Strong evidence of multi-agency partnership working leading the education response,
• An understanding of the Inspection Framework and supporting schools through the experience,
