About the Role
An outstanding secondary school in North London is seeking to appoint a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join its committed and dynamic team from September 2025. This is a pivotal role within the school community, ensuring that safeguarding remains a top priority and that all students are supported to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be passionate about student welfare, proactive in promoting a safe learning environment, and confident in working with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on all safeguarding matters across the school.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding guidance and best practices.
- Work closely with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Promote a culture of vigilance and support across the school community.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Holds a degree and has relevant safeguarding training (DSL Level 3 preferred).
- Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and a child-centred approach.
- Has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Possesses a sound understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
- Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement.
