Summary
The heart of a school is more often than not based in the office. A strange statement to make? Possibly, but certainly correct. The people that greet each member of our school community day in and day out are the cogs that keep us turning and the core of who we are. They are the face of the school and deal with ever-changing priorities and needs, with no two days ever being the same.
An incredibly important role, that we need a special person to fill. Sounds like a lot we know! Thankfully, we offer a lot in return...
Are you ready for the chance to join our Oasis family? We’re looking for someone who is:Friendly, confident and caring – which are all essential traits when working on the front desk as the face of the school Able to communicate effectively about our school – you'll be the first point of contact for admissions, so must be able to showcase why parents and children should choose us An expert at building relationships – as a central part of our office team you will be in contact with children and parents every day and need to form strong bonds to do your job well Efficient and un-flappable – working in an ever-changing environment you need to be able to manage changing priorities whilst still getting your day-to-day work done
As we’ve said, no two days are the same and there is a lot of variety in the work. But, in practice you are expected to:Work on the reception desk – answering calls, greeting and signing in visitors, parents and children, as well as opening and organising post and taking deliveriesManage the admissions and leavers processes Make phone calls and send messages to parents and carers Put together and sharing our weekly newsletter Submit orders for teachers including stationery and supplies
Including all the other essential activities that crop up each day! It is a busy role with a good mix of hands-on work and being based at your desk.
