Managing the eligibility, arrangements and monitoring of specialist School and Social Care Transport accounts for over 60% of the work of the TCS. It entails travel arrangements for children, young people and older adults across a wide spectrum. Transport is provided for over 13,000 children and young people, including up to 2000 Post-16 students, as well as over 1000 children with Special Educational Needs. Transport is also provided for up to 1500 social care service users requiring transport every day.
The role holder will be responsible for managing transport in a designated geographical area of the county and will arrange the economical and efficient day-to-day passenger transport for children, Post-16 students and adults, liaising directly with transport users and carers about travel options.
