Summary

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Provide visible, professional leadership for Children and Young Peoples Services (CYP), fostering strong multidisciplinary collaboration and ensuring high-quality care. Clinical Excellence & Patient Experience: Lead in setting and maintaining clinical standards, driving improvements in patient outcomes and experiences for children, young people, and their families. Operational Management: Provide line management and professional leadership for CYP services. Service Integration: Lead the interface between CYP services and other areas, ensuring seamless patient transitions. Patient & Family Engagement: Champion the involvement of children and families in service development and environmental standards. Quality Improvement: Lead by example and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement (CQI). Visibility & Accessibility: Maintain a visible and accessible presence for staff, children, and families, ensuring their voices are heard. Education & Training: Provide specialist education and training, ensuring staff compliance with mandatory training and revalidation. Staff Wellbeing: Lead the Directorate's staff wellbeing initiatives. Policy & Compliance: Develop and ensure compliance with CYP-related policies, procedures, and guidelines. Performance Management: Identify and address issues related to poor performance, risks, and complaints. Key Stakeholder: Serve as a key member of CYP Services Pathway Coordination: Collaborate with other Matrons and leads to coordinate patient pathways across services. Nursing Development: Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, facilitating the development of nursing practice. Audit & Development: Conduct regular audits and training to identify and plan for service improvements. Change Management: Support the leadership of CYP clinical areas to drive effective management and change. Resource Management: Ensure efficient resource utilisation to meet agreed quality standards. Workforce Management: Coordinate day-to-day nursing activities, ensuring adequate skill mix and staff cover. Clinical Governance: Coordinate Clinical Governance activities with the Divisional Governance Manager and Leadership Team. Deputising: Act as Head of Nursing when required.
