The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage and monitor staff performance, and a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across the premises.
The Cleaning Supervisor will monitor and assess the performance of all staff in the cleaning team, ensuring that they meet company and client expectations. Regular reviews and annual appraisals will be conducted for direct reports. The supervisor will induct and train new Cleaning Services Team members in line with MITIE Company Policy, ensuring they understand and adhere to all operational procedures. They will provide ongoing specific training on cleaning practices, equipment use, and chemical handling.
The supervisor will also manage holidays, absences, and time off for Cleaning Operatives and Team Leaders, ensuring adequate coverage and no disruption to cleaning standards. They will enforce the Mitie Absence Management Policy and track attendance, ensuring that the Signing-in Register is completed daily. The supervisor will liaise with the Duty Manager regarding the selection of suitable cleaning operatives to maintain an effective team.
The supervisor will allocate cleaning duties to ensure all areas are maintained according to contractual requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Time sheets for the Cleaning Services Team will be completed and processed within the specified time restrictions. They will ensure team members are adhering to site rules, including wearing the appropriate MITIE uniform and maintaining a smart appearance. The supervisor will oversee the correct use and distribution of cleaning materials, ensuring that the right products are used for each task.
In addition, the supervisor will ensure that all cleaning machinery is in safe working condition through regular weekly checks and report any faults to the Facilities Manager. They will report any accidents, hazards, or potential risks to the LifeLine and relevant management, ensuring all necessary records are updated. The supervisor will review cleaning equipment, storage areas, and sluice rooms to ensure cleanliness and secure storage when not in use. They will ensure safety signs are available and used correctly by all team members to prevent accidents and ensure safe working conditions.
The supervisor will respond promptly to customer complaints and concerns, in coordination with the Duty Manager, ensuring effective resolution and maintaining high client satisfaction. They will develop positive working relationships with the onsite FM Team, Facilities Inspectors (FIs), and client customers to ensure smooth operations. The supervisor will attend relevant training sessions to stay updated on the latest cleaning equipment, materials, and company procedures.
The supervisor will maintain accurate stock control by completing order sheets and reporting material usage as directed by the Duty Manager. They will ensure that all equipment and cleaning materials are properly stored and secured when not in use.
The supervisor will respond quickly and effectively to any major leaks or incidents, managing the situation in collaboration with the Duty Manager. They will ensure all team members are aware of statutory fire and safety regulations and provide ongoing safety training through toolbox talks.
The supervisor will conduct daily audits and report faults using the client's Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system. They will liaise with Soft Plus Services to address fabric faults within agreed SLAs. The supervisor will also undertake any other related duties as required by the business.
