In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive training to team members on relevant aspects of their roles. Adherence to the Company's Health, Safety, and Quality (HSQE) procedures is paramount; you must ensure that your team performs their duties in line with the established HSQE guidelines at all times. Building and maintaining positive relationships with the onsite FM Team, Facility Inspectors (FIs), and Client Customers is also a key aspect of this role.

Main Duties

You will assist the Supervisor with nightly operational issues, ensuring that any challenges are addressed promptly. Induction and training of the Cleaning Services Team will be conducted as required, in accordance with MITIE Company Policy. This includes specific training on equipment use, cleaning practices, and chemical handling for the Soft Services Team on site. You will also support the Supervisor in selecting suitable cleaning operatives and maintaining accurate staff attendance records. The Signing-in Register must be completed in line with contracted hours, with records reviewed daily.

Your responsibilities will include allocating cleaning duties and areas to Cleaning Operatives, ensuring that all areas are maintained according to the contract requirements and relevant Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will complete and process Cleaning Services Team site time sheets within the Company's time constraints, and ensure team members PIN in upon arrival and departure from the site. It is important that Cleaning Operatives adhere to site rules and maintain a smart appearance, including wearing the MITIE uniform while performing their tasks.

Managing and controlling the issuance and usage of cleaning materials on site is essential, ensuring that appropriate materials are used for each task. Weekly checks of all cleaning machinery must be conducted to verify safe working conditions, with any faults reported to the Supervisor or Facilities Manager. You will report all accidents or potential hazards to the LifeLine and relevant management, updating records as necessary.

Maintaining cleanliness and security of equipment, storage areas, and sluice rooms is crucial. Ensure that all relevant safety signs are provided and used correctly by Cleaning Operatives. Any damage or safety defects on the premises should be reported to the Engineering Help Centre and logged as appropriate. Monitoring the standard of work of the Cleaning Services Team is part of your role, as is attending training sessions to stay updated on cleaning equipment, materials, and company procedures.

Ensuring that all areas within the premises are cleaned to the required frequency and SLAs is essential. You will complete stock control and order sheets as directed by the Supervisor and ensure that all Cleaning Operatives are aware of Company and Client statutory fire and safety regulations, providing good safety methods of work. Responding to major leaks or incidents and managing the situation as directed by the Supervisor is also part of your duties. Additionally, you may be required to undertake any other related duties within your capability, according to the needs of the business.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills and the ability to complete an Enhanced Disclosure in line with contract requirements. Candidates must also complete Heathrow Fire Awareness and General Security Awareness Training. Flexibility in shift patterns is required to meet contractual obligations. A flexible approach to the role, proven customer focus and service skills, and effective workload prioritization with good organizational skills are essential. The ability to work independently, strong awareness of Health and Safety legislation, and excellent time management skills are crucial. Understanding of RAMs and COSHH, adherence to Group and company policies and procedures, and reporting any deficiencies in work systems or equipment are also important. Proper use of work equipment and personal PPE in accordance with training, compliance with Mitie's information security procedures, and the ability to report any issues that may impact service delivery or health and safety are key requirements.
