Summary
To assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the child you are assigned to, enabling them to access learning in an inclusive and supportive environment.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with complex special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child’s access to learning, build their confidence, and help them develop positive relationships within the school environment.
The successful candidate will:
Support the child in developing positive social interactions, building self-esteem and improving emotional wellbeing
Have experience of working with children who have social, emotional and/or communication needs
Demonstrate a calm, consistent and nurturing approach with effective behaviour management skills
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and external professionals to deliver tailored support
Be resilient, reflective and committed to meeting the individual needs of the child
The following is desirable, but not essential:
Experience of supporting a child with reactive attachment disorder
Knowledge and/or experience of trauma-informed strategies
