Summary
Are you an experienced and resilient teacher passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A school in London is seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join their dedicated team from September 2025.
This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to teach in small, supportive classes, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and personally. You'll be part of an outstanding SEMH provision with a therapeutic approach, clear routines, and a staff team that works collaboratively to transform outcomes for vulnerable learners.
This is an ideal opportunity for teachers with mainstream or SEN experience who want to make a profound impact on the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches
• Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons for students with SEMH needs
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (including therapists and behaviour mentors)
• Track progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to EHCP reviews
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote trust and engagement
• Model emotional regulation and resilience to support students' personal development
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider life of the school
• Experience teaching students with SEMH or SEND needs desirable
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of trauma-informed practice
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Resilience, adaptability, and a positive approach
• A genuine passion for working with children and young people who require additional support
