As the successful candidate you will join the Aston Foundation Centre. Part of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, we are a close-knit, collaborative team where creativity and mutual support are at the heart of everything we do.

You will be expected to contribute to, develop and enhance the teaching and scholarship activities within the Aston Foundation Centre, either independently or as part of a team. You will be expected to support the teaching across all aspects of the Foundation Programmes, with a focus on supporting mathematics and programming. Alongside this you will contribute to citizenship within the department, acting as the first line of support to students as a personal tutor.

You will need to hold a degree in a relevant subject discipline and either hold a recognised teaching qualification at the appropriate level or be able to achieve this within 2 years of taking up the appointment. You will also have experience of teaching and supporting teaching in a variety of settings, assessing student progress, and providing appropriate feedback and support.

The salary being offered for this role is below the minimum threshold for required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker route. However, Aston University may be able to sponsor the successful candidate if they:

Are under 26 years old
Hold a PhD that is relevant to the role
Currently hold a Student or Graduate visa, issued within the last 2 years
Are already in the UK with a Tier 2 or Skilled Worker visa issued before April 4th 2024
