Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of quality systems and processes across construction projects. The QA Manager will ensure that construction activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and client expectations, while promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and company-wide QA systems aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
• Oversee inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality control procedures, and method statements.
• Conduct quality audits, site inspections, and surveillance checks on construction activities, materials, and workmanship.
• Ensure that subcontractors and suppliers meet project and regulatory quality requirements.
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and root cause analyses.
• Collaborate with project teams to review design documentation, verify deliverables, and mitigate quality-related risks.
• Maintain up-to-date quality documentation, reports, and records.
• Lead and participate in internal and external audits including ISO certifications.
• Support training and awareness initiatives to build a quality-conscious culture on-site.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies regarding quality compliance.
• Monitor project deliverables and milestones to ensure quality benchmarks are achieved.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Management role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, techniques, and relevant codes (e.g., ISO 9001, BS/EN Standards).
• Hands-on experience with auditing, inspection, documentation, and compliance monitoring.
• Familiarity with digital quality management systems and tools (e.g., Fieldview, Aconex, Procore, Viewpoint).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional quality concerns.
Qualifications:
• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015) highly desirable.
• Membership of professional bodies (e.g., CQI, ICE, CIOB) is advantageous.
• CSCS card and knowledge of CDM Regulations preferred.
Desirable Attributes:
• Experience on major infrastructure, residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental systems (ISO 45001/14001).
• Ability to implement Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
