Summary
This post is a full-time role, 37 hours per week. Flexible working is available. The job will involve visiting caravan sites in the District alongside agile working!
Caravan licensing is a key element of the enforcement service. The Officer needs to provide a high-level service for the investigation of, and condition compliance regime relating to holiday and residential sites in the district. You will be carrying out site inspections and investigations, advising on appropriate action, and taking action to resolve non-compliance, in accordance with Government Guidelines, Policy and Legislation. You will also be required to give evidence at hearings or Inquiries in Court and at Tribunals.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with excellent communication and negotiation skills to investigate and ensure non-compliance is resolved. Seeking resolution through negotiation where possible, but also instigating formal action where required. You will provide caravan advice to Members and customers. You will also have excellent IT skills and be able to produce and understand reports and Legal Documents. It is desirable to have experience and/or knowledge of caravan regulations, and an understanding of caravan and/or planning law/principles, as full training will be provided!
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of cases. We are looking for someone with organisational and time management skills, combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to customer care. You will need good investigative skills, have the ability to read plans and drawings, and prepare and present information effectively in writing and orally. The successful candidate would be expected to display an enthusiastic outlook and play a positive role in the team.
