Part-Time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 20 year old male who attends Beechwood College and lives in Dinas Powys area. I am on the autistic spectrum and have learning difficulties and non-verbal. I have high sensory needs and very gentle.
I would like a PA to pick me up and take me home after I finish college until my mother comes home from work. Usually I like to just chill after a full day at college watching the TV.
I may need ad hoc hours in the holidays and this may mean helping me get washed and dressed, and food prepared. During holidays I will need support in the community, I enjoy going for walks, cinema, bowling, but the best thing I enjoy is chilling out.
As I need one to one support at all times the main purpose of my PA is to ensure that I am safe at all times.
Applicant must be okay with dogs (we have a naughty sausage dog).
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Main reason for the position, support at home, out in the community.
RATE(S) OF PAY
£16.00 per hour.
Mileage
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours per week.
2 hours on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3pm – 5pm (after college).
Ad hoc hours during holidays.
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Keeping me safe and providing me with company
Understanding my needs e.g. ensuring I have a drink and snacks
Bringing me home after college
During holidays providing me with support to wash, dress and ensure have meals, providing me with company and accessing the community.

ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly / monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
