About the Role

This is a really exciting opportunity for 2x people to join our innovative and dynamic Targeted CAMHS team. The post holder will be a member of one of our community-based teams working in partnership with social care, health and education agencies. You will deliver evidence based therapeutic support for children & young people with a range of emotional & mental health difficulties. The children & young people who access our services present with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

As a CAMHS Level 2 Practitioner you will be an integral team member offering consultation, delivering group work, assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people we serve.

The post-holder will work as part of the Targeted CAMHS Citywide team in the community as part of a multi disciplinary team delivering, high-quality; goal and outcome focused therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, these may include anxiety, low mood and complex presentations.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant professional qualification in mental health nursing, psychotherapy, counselling or above in a relevant field. IAPT or therapeutic training highly desirable, for example; Post graduate qualification in CBT, BA counselling or psychotherapy.
  • Direct experience as practitioner in a mental health setting with children.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of how to work therapeutically with Children & Young People with anxiety, depression, and other mental health related problem issues.
  • Ability to provide effective interventions, experience of facilitating group work, training, consultation and assessments including risk assessments. This role will involve working with vulnerable Children & Young People with risk behaviours and safeguarding concerns.
  • Knowledge and existing skills regarding a range of therapeutic interventions and their application to practice for a wide range of mental health presentations. Including a sound knowledge of theory and its application to evidence based practice.

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
