Teaching Assistant Level 2
Location: Nottingham
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (Level 2 scale)
Contract: upto 32.5 hours per week / Term-Time Only
Start Date: Sept 25
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Nottingham. The school provides education and support for pupils aged 5 to 14 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings due to behavioural concerns. All pupils are referred by the local authority, and many require a high level of emotional and behavioural support to re-engage with learning.
The Academy offers a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment aimed at helping pupils address their barriers to learning. The dedicated team works closely with each young person to support their academic, emotional, and social development, with the goal of successful reintegration into mainstream or specialist settings.
The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and experienced team to deliver tailored learning support and behavioural guidance. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, ideal for those with a passion for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
To apply for this role, or for more information, please submit your application. Early applications are encouraged as interviews will be arranged on a rolling basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support across a range of subjects and activities
- Help pupils manage and reflect on behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and engagement
- Assist in the implementation of personalised education and behaviour plans
- Contribute to a positive and safe school culture
Candidate Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children who display challenging behaviour is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and build positive relationships with pupils
- A resilient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Due to the nature of the roles, candidates must be UK residents residing within the local area. Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
Provide Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all supply staff to share this commitment. As part of our recruitment process, we will undertake the necessary checks to complete your registration with us, inclusive of a video interview, current references, and DBS check.
