Primary Teacher - September 2025 - Temp to perm - Full-time - Daily rate to MPS/UPS scale - Croydon
Long Term Futures is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS / KS1 Teachers to join a highly-regarded 'Good' rated Infant School in Thornton Heath, Croydon (CR7). We have exciting opportunities for Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 Teachers, starting in September 2025.
About the Role
These positions offer a daily pay rate of £162-£252, equivalent to MPS/UPS, for full-time work (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-3:30 pm). We have both long-term roles with strong potential for permanent employment and a Maternity Cover contract available, depending on mutual agreement and the specific year group. For suitably experienced candidates, the EYFS / Reception Teacher role could also include middle management responsibilities.
About the School
This vibrant and diverse South London school is known for its supportive leadership, commitment to staff well-being, and focus on staff development. It's easily accessible from Croydon, Lambeth, Bromley, Sutton, and other nearby boroughs. You'll be joining a nurturing and collaborative team environment that encourages social interaction.
What We Offer
- Secure a stable teaching position with promising prospects for permanent employment.
- Competitive daily pay aligned with the Main Pay Scale (MPS).
- Manageable workload with a focus on adapting thematic curriculums to your class rather than extensive take-home marking.
- Comprehensive and inclusive CPD opportunities (including safeguarding, SEND, behaviour training), often scheduled on inset days.
- The chance to contribute to the school's ongoing curriculum development.
- Trial opportunities are encouraged to ensure the role is the right fit for you.
Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing and delivering stimulating and effective learning experiences aligned with either the EYFS Curriculum (for Reception) or the KS1 National Curriculum (for Year 1 & 2). This includes:
- Diligently assessing, monitoring, and reporting on pupil progress, tailoring teaching methods to individual needs (EAL, SEND).
- Establishing and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment through effective behaviour management.
- Building strong working relationships and communicating proactively with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
- Actively participating in and contributing to the positive atmosphere and wider activities of the school.
About You
We are looking for passionate educators who:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Possess recent and successful teaching experience within the EYFS or KS1 phase, with specific Year 1 or Year 2 experience being highly advantageous.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the relevant curriculum (EYFS or KS1 National Curriculum) and a commitment to play-based and child-led learning principles where appropriate.
- Exhibit strong skills in classroom management and pupil behaviour.
- Are dedicated to upholding safeguarding standards and promoting child welfare.
