The Army Digital Services (ADS) organisation is part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) part of the Directorate of Information. ADS is the Army's supplier of choice for the design, development and support of applications and services to provide digital enablement of the Army's processes. It therefore supports the Army’s ambitious and innovative modernisation and transformation agenda.
ADS enables this digital transformation by developing bespoke software, hosting applications, including the Army Data Warehouse and conducting data analytics.

The Senior Executive Officer (SEO) Cloud Infrastructure Operations is a pivotal role in the management and maintenance of the core infrastructure that underpins production services. Ensuring the services and the contractual and regulatory requirements of the organisation are met.
The ideal candidate will possess a good working knowledge of technology concepts, IT governance structures, IT Service Operations/Management. You will be pivotal in enabling and assuring the rapid transformation of the Army's digital ecosystem, working closely with the Chief Digital Engineer, contractors, customers and vendors. You will be pivotal in management of the workload, performance and development of the Technical Design Office as a Service (TDOaaS) Capability. A key component of this role will be responsible for the provisioning of technical expertise from within the TDOaaS contract in support of programmes and projects.
This role is responsible for the supervision of the TDOaaS as the ADS Design Authority working closely with multiple stakeholders across defence. Specifically, you will be required to manage outages, a forward schedule of change, Infrastructure upgrades and migration pathways, whilst also managing the Army Hosting Environment (AHE) infrastructure Roadmap. In addition to this you will be responsible for the control and communication of fail over activities to and from the Primary and Disaster relief data centres.
You will be required to lead and drive business outcomes from the capabilities of the TDOaaS contract. Providing Leadership and Guidance to harness the technical skills and capabilities from within the contract. You will manage the business prioritise of the TDOaaS via our ITSM Ticketing system. This role is responsible for the delivery of the best possible technical results and value for money for Defence.
You will be expected to solve complex, novel challenges where no established precedents exist, requiring innovative, secure and approved approaches to ensure the Army’s digital ecosystems aligns with future operational requirements.
Main responsibilities will include:
Act as the lead for the Technical Design Office (TDO). Responsible for prioritising tasks and requests for support from the Army into the Supplier
Provide Advice and Guidance (Written & Oral) to Army and Defence customers on hosting options, focusing particularly on the technical Infrastructure and security requirements
Work closely with the Business to shape, grow and modernise processes and practices
Contract management of the Technical Design Office and infrastructure requirements to support the Business Objectives
People Management: Lead a hybrid team of contractors and crown servants
Manage operational support of IT solutions and services
Manage workload, performance and development of a team of IT operations specialists by building capability to deliver services as required
Manage third party provision of IT operations services
Manage provision of expertise to programmes and projects
Manage the development of architectural solutions for IT operations solutions, throughout the service life cycle
