Summary
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Video Cameraman and Director to join our production team in documenting and directing Sufi music and cultural events across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual storytelling and a deep appreciation for spiritual and devotional art forms, particularly those rooted in Sufi traditions.
The role involves capturing high-quality footage of live concerts, qawwali performances, religious gatherings, festivals, and behind-the-scenes moments. The content will be used for promotional campaigns, social media, documentaries, and archival purposes. The successful candidate must be skilled in directing multi-camera setups, managing on-location shoots, and delivering visually powerful edits that reflect the emotional and spiritual atmosphere of each event.
Applicants must have proven experience in video production, particularly in live music or cultural settings, and possess a strong portfolio of previous work. Experience with filming spiritual or Sufi-themed events is highly desirable. The candidate should be proficient in camera operation, lighting, and audio techniques, as well as editing software. They must also be comfortable working independently, under pressure, and in varied environments across different UK venues.
Strong cultural sensitivity, an eye for meaningful detail, and the ability to creatively interpret the essence of Sufi music are essential. Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours is required.
To apply, interested individuals should email their CV, a link to their showreel or portfolio, and a brief note outlining their relevant experience to abid@sayarts.com.
