Due to an internal promotion we are looking to appoint an experienced and skilled accountant to fulfil the role of Principal Accountant within the Financial Management service. andnbsp;Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, the postholder will provide the lead finance role to the City Councils wholly owned development company, Siglion Developments LLP, investment company Siglion Investments LLP and the City Councils joint venture company, International Advanced Manufacturing Park LLP (IAMP).andnbsp; In addition, the role will also provide financial management support to the Economy and Place Directorate.



Siglion Developments LLP is an ambitious development company, focusing upon strategic developments sites at Riverside, Potters Hill and Sunniside, set up to carry out a regeneration programme which will support the transformation of Sunderland.



Siglion Investments LLP is an investment property portfolio company.

IAMP is a development joint venture between South Tyneside and Sunderland City Council. IAMP was set up to deliver a world-class fully serviced manufacturing park with a pipeline of skilled employees trained to the needs of businesses now and in the future.



This is not an ordinary accountancy role. In addition to supporting the Economy and Place Directorate the successful candidate will play a key part in providing sound financial management, the production of statutory accounts and support to the companies and their Board.

The successful candidate must be capable of providing financial leadership in a commercially focused organisation and must have the ability to understand technical financial reporting requirements alongside project development, appraisal and support.andnbsp; In addition, the successful candidate must be capable of providing sound financial advice and guidance in a large dynamic organisation, with a commitment to continuous service improvement in support of the Councilandrsquo;s strategic objectives.



The ability to consider complex scenarios and work through their financial implications in addition to excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to foster productive and inclusive working relationships within Siglion, the Finance Service and the wider Council.



You will be joining a finance team that is well regarded internally and externally, and a Council with a renewed focus to lead the City forward.
