The role:

On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an Administrator/ Business Support Officer to support Children's Safeguarding Standards Team and to undertake a minute taking role for Child Protection Conferences which involves live emotive meetings that require minutes to be typed on a screen for all attendees to review during the meeting and carry out pre and post meeting actions.



Key Responsibilities may include:

Providing efficient and confidential administrative support to the Children’s Safeguarding Standards Team.
Taking accurate, real-time minutes during Child Protection Conferences, often involving sensitive and emotive subject matter.
Typing minutes live during virtual or in-person meetings using a shared screen so that all attendees can view and agree on the content in real-time.
Preparing documentation and ensuring all pre-conference paperwork is available and circulated in a timely manner.
Completing post-conference actions such as finalising and distributing minutes, updating systems, and liaising with professionals as required.
Ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and sensitivity at all times.



What the client is looking for:

Previous Minute taking experience is essential for this role and ideally within a local authority
Experience in children’s services, safeguarding, or a similar environment - desirable
A confident and accurate typist with experience of minute taking in complex and fast-paced environments.
Able to remain composed and professional while handling highly sensitive and emotive information.
Organised and detail-oriented, with strong time management and administrative skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiar with Microsoft Office and comfortable with using digital platforms for meetings and document sharing.
