National Returns Progression Command (NRPC) is part of Immigration Enforcement. It is responsible for preventing immigration abuse, tracking immigration offenders and increasing compliance with immigration law. It works with partners such as the police to regulate migration in line with government policy, while supporting economic growth.
Are you ready to be a part of a brand-new team to assist in the return of those with no leave to remain in the United Kingdom? We are seeking new team members for the NRPC Charters team. This is a cross-cutting role, coordinating the return of those with no leave to remain and ensuring efficiency in detained processes by minimising time in detention and maximising use of charter flights, thus delivering excellent value for money and reducing the harm irregular migration can cause.
These posts sit within the newly formed NRPC Charters team, which is a dynamic and responsive team under the National Returns Progression Command (NRPC). NRPC delivers returns from the UK through their Voluntary Returns Service (VRS) and Detained Returns.
These posts are fast-paced and require an adaptive yet methodical approach. Full training will be provided but the successful candidate will need to bring a sense of positivity and resilience as the team embeds and processes are established.
As an Executive Officer (EO) on the team, you will work collaboratively with detention casework teams, travel documentation teams and colleagues in Returns Logistics. Therefore, this role will demand skill in engaging with internal stakeholders and quickly building productive, constructive relationships.
Adaptability will be key to this role as there are different requirements and deadlines for different destinations and occasionally these deadlines will change at short notice.
The Charters Team processes will require an excellent attention to detail. An ability to always consider the face behind the case is paramount to any immigration casework function.
Key Responsibilities
- Interrogation of all cases in scope for charter flights, ensuring cases are progressed appropriately within deadlines and referrals are made.
- Complete quality checks on charter referrals and ensure accuracy of manifest, providing updates to queries from colleagues in Returns Logistics.
- Work with Central Barrier team and Operational Support Certification Unit to ensure pending barriers are cleared in line with the service of removal notices and case prioritisation.
- Ensure accuracy of records and provide data quality oversight when reviewing cases to ensure all individual needs are recorded correctly on IT systems and are reflected in returns plan.
- Co-ordinate submission of emergency travel documents in time for charter by liaising with Document Liaison Officers and issuing necessary reminders/ prompts.
- Oversee service of relevant returns notices for all charter cases, ensuring correct notice periods are adhered to, legal reps informed if applicable, and IT systems updated correctly.
The responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present and is not intended to be exhaustive. You are expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary as the team is established.
Working Pattern
This role is available on a full-time basis with the option of compressed hours working. This role is also suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work 24 hours / 3 days per week due to business requirements.
