You would be expected to work in the Wembley Office 3 days a week minimum.
The role:
We are seeking a proactive individual to join the Housing Benefit Information team, primarily handling incoming calls. The team provides a comprehensive telephone service, assisting customers with their queries and applications related to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support, the Resident Support Fund, and Discretionary Housing Payments.
You will offer guidance on claim procedures, explain next steps, and escalate unresolved issues to the Housing Benefit back office to ensure all matters are addressed.
The role requires the ability to manage multiple systems and demonstrate empathy and strong listening skills.
What the client is looking for:
Provide customer-focused advice, information, transactions, and complaints handling across varied enquiry types
Deliver high-quality customer service in fast-paced, demanding environments, applying discretion and judgement
Resolve enquiries via phone, email, web chat, and social media efficiently
Manage complex enquiries, complaints, and high volumes of contact across multiple channels
Handle all customers politely and courteously, ensuring they feel supported and confident using excellent communication skills
Deal sympathetically with distressed, agitated, or irate customers
Listen actively and clearly explain legislation and procedures verbally and in writing
Understand diverse customer needs, offering proactive solutions for linguistic or disability requirements
Navigate IT systems efficiently to log, process, and resolve enquiries and transactions
