Monday to Friday 3.00pm to 6.00pm - 3 Hours per day - 15 Hours per week - Term time only - Fixed term contract until 31st August 2026. Required from September 2025
Are you passionate about working with children and creating a safe, fun and engaging environment for them to thrive in before or after school? Caversham Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Extended School Club Assistant to join our dedicated team.
The hours and days worked can be flexible – please discuss with the school.
About the Role:
As an Extended School Club Assistant, you will help provide high-quality care, play opportunities and creative activities for our pupils during our wraparound provision. Whether it’s supporting breakfast club or running after-school games and crafts, your role is key in giving children a positive start and end to their school day.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise children in a safe, welcoming environment
• Support with delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
• Assist with preparing snacks and ensuring good hygiene standards
• Help set up and tidy away materials and equipment
What the school offers its staff
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
• Enjoys working with children and helping them learn through play
• Has a positive, friendly attitude and works well in a team
• Is reliable, punctual and well-organised
• Ideally has experience in a childcare or school setting (not essential – training can be provided)
The successful candidate should have experience of working with children and be willing to undertake training. NVQ 2 in play work would be an added advantage.
