Summary

Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a child with specific medical needs.JOB PURPOSE:Under the direction of the teacher, to support effective teaching and learning by working with an individual with specific medical needs.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Implement learning activities/teaching programmes as directed by the SENCo/Learning Provision Manager, adjusting activities and differentiating approach and resources according to student needsParticipate in planning, evaluation of learning activities and interventions with the SENCo/Learning Provision Manager, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviourSupport the SENCo/Learning Provision Manager in setting targets, monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progressLiaising with parents and outside agencies regarding students’ SEND needs and progressAssist in the creation, development and review of student profiles and support plansProvide feedback to student in relation to attainment and progress under the guidance of the teacherSupport learning by advising teachers on appropriate differentiation and resourcesSupport student in social and emotional wellbeing, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.Liaise with appropriate external agencies, parents, and carers as required by the SENCo/Learning Provision Manager or Academy Leadership team.Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all studentsLiaise with and support educational and therapeutic professionals in their delivery of specialist support programmesCarryout specified medical care procedures following direct specific training by a qualified practitioner.Invigilate/ scribe/read/prompt in exams and assessmentsAssist in escorting and supervising students on educational visits and out of school activitiesSupport students in developing and implementing their own personal and social development P.
