Summary
Purpose: To ensure the safe transfer of manufactured parts between sites is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Vehicle unloading and goods receipt:
Good parts management skills when receiving and checking loads into site.
Fully conversant with goods in process and able to take necessary action to sort delivery inaccuracies
Able to place goods into appropriate storage locations
Vehicle loading and despatching goods:
Aware of warehouse and site layouts and inter-relationships between different areas.
Able to securely load vehicles to ensure safe transfer from one site to the next.
Identify and correct any packaging and/or labelling faults in loads assembled for transfer.
Able to load vehicles in a safe and effective manner.
General Housekeeping:
Awareness of hazards resulting in spills and leakages of product ensuring such spills and leakages are dealt with immediately or reported to others for action.
awareness of necessity to maintain a clean & tidy Warehouse and surrounding areas, taking own initiative to clear up or report to others for action.
Van must be kept clean each day.
Quality Assurance procedures:
Aware of quality and quarantine issues
Carry out quality checks and report identified faults
use the quality outcomes to quarantine products using appropriate procedures.
Person Specification:
Full driving license for vehicles up to 3.5T (preferable a clean license)
Current forklift truck license
Good understanding of health and Safety Regulations
Manual Handling experience
Warehouse NVQ2 qualification (desirable)
Key Skills and Abilities:
Good verbal communication skills
Ability to use own initiative to think through problems and find solutions
Ability to work to deadlines and targets
Computer Literate
Knowledge:
Previous warehouse experience (preferable)
Personal Attributes:
Calm under pressure
Motivated and Flexible
Good personal organisational skills
Assertive
Team worker
Ambitious and enthusiastic
No smoking allowed in any company vehicles
Terms and Conditions:
Hours of work: Monday - Thursday (07.30 - 16.30)
Friday (07.30 - 14.00)
Holiday Entitlement = 28 days (incl bank holidays)
Company pension Scheme + paid sick scheme on qualification.
