Summary
The role involves the delivery of the PM’s domestic and overseas travel. You will work in close collaboration with the Senior Travel and Logistics Manager and the whole of the Events and Visits team. You will work with senior teams across Whitehall and overseas as well as a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will be part of a team looking after day-to-day budget management, forecasting and fiscal reporting for the domestic and overseas visit budgets. You will also be responsible for ensuring the department’s compliance with accountability and transparency obligations.
You will need to react quickly and calmly to changing circumstances, able to show initiative, and have exceptional organisational and financial management skills. You will have past experience working in high profile and high pressure environments.
The successful candidate will have experience of independently leading on events and travel operations and budget planning. Any knowledge of working in an events or press office team is beneficial. The role will involve domestic and international travel.
Working in the Events and Visits team frequently involves delivering to the highest standard under pressure and to immovable deadlines as well as routine out of hours work. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills working in a fast-paced environment, yet a high degree of commitment and flexibility will be required.
Responsibilities
- Leading and taking responsibility for the planning and execution of logistics of the Prime Minister’s domestic and international visits, including detailed preparation of travel plans.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders, including other government departments, overseas embassies and private sector companies, to manage travel arrangements, such as aircraft charters, transport and accommodation bookings and immigration queries.
- Accompanying the PM on domestic and overseas trips, providing trip management in high pressure situations
- Work with press office and media operations teams to understand the media attendance and movements during all PM domestic and foreign visits.
- Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the Royal Air Force as one your key transport partners in the delivery of senior ministerial travel.
