*** Location: Ward of Selly Oak
*** 1:1 support in Year 1 for a child with autism

The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Graduate LSA, you’ll support a child in Year 1 who has a diagnosis of autism. Your role will involve helping them access the curriculum, manage transitions, and build key social and communication skills. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow a personalised support plan, using a mix of structured learning and play-based approaches tailored to the child’s needs.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate with a calm, patient, and empathetic nature. You might be considering a career in SEN teaching, speech and language therapy, or educational psychology. Experience working with children with additional needs—whether in a school, care setting or volunteering—is highly desirable. You’ll need to be consistent, reliable, and confident in setting boundaries and building trust.
