About the role
The school is looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Leeds, starting as soon as possible. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a background in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and a passion for restorative approaches to behaviour and learning.

Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with young people in a behavioural or pastoral role
- Experience supporting SEMH students in a school or alternative provision
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-to-one with students displaying challenging behaviours.
- Support students in regulating their emotions and behaviours.
- Intervene during behavioural incidents and apply de-escalation techniques.
- Supervise students in the inclusion or isolation room.
- Provide classroom support to reduce disruption and maintain a calm environment.
- Monitor behaviour logs and report safeguarding concerns.
- Offer structured time-out support to students in need of a break from class.
- Attend and contribute to the pastoral team and safeguarding meetings.
- Provide lunch and break time supervision, particularly for vulnerable students.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and interventions.
- Work closely with the SENCO and Inclusion Manager to support EHCP outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding progress or concerns.
