Summary

Job Overview
This is a brand-new role created to help us build on our strong foundations. At Manston, behaviour is calm, respectful and embedded in a supportive, inclusive culture — but we want to take it even further. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Behaviour and Learning Mentor to support children across school with engagement, relationships and emotional regulation, enabling every child to feel safe, valued and successful.
You’ll play a leading role in celebrating and reinforcing positive behaviour every day, while also supporting the implementation of the Zones of Regulation across the school.

The Role
You will:
Build trusted relationships with children who need additional support to access learning and manage their emotions
Deliver structured 1:1 and group interventions, including Zones of Regulation strategies
Respond to children who are dysregulated or disengaged, helping them to re-focus and re-join learning
Celebrate positive behaviours and ensure these are recognised, rewarded and reinforced consistently across the day
Work alongside class teachers, the SENDCo, Safeguarding and Welfare Officer and SLT to identify needs and implement support
Liaise with parents and external agencies as needed
This is a relational role — your presence and consistency will make a daily difference.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience supporting children with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or emotional development
Understands how emotional regulation, relationships and readiness to learn are closely linked
Is confident, calm, empathetic and reliable
Can work both flexibly and within structured systems and routines
Has a Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent experience in pastoral or behaviour roles
