Summary

Main duties and responsibilities: 

To assist the Academic Services Manager in all matters relating to the interface with other areas of the University administration including reviewing the annual schedule of work for the Programme Administrators and taking a pro-active approach to ensure that activities are planned and undertaken in a timely way.  

To line manage, develop and support the Programme Administrators and co-ordinate with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of administrative support for collaborative partnerships.  

To support the Academic Services Manager in operational aspects of compliance and ensure that all School Office activity is fully co-ordinated with University systems and other areas of the University administration and across partnerships. 

To provide excellent customer service, handling enquiries relating to academic programmes, maintaining in depth knowledge of the Academic Regulations and offering advice and guidance to staff, partners and students.  

To ensure the provision of an effective first-line enquiries and support service for students, staff and external contacts through face-to-face, email and telephone communication, that also refers students to appropriate sources of support.  

To assist the Academic Services Manager in providing information as required for the Senior Management team, the University and external organisations and Collaborative Partners including collating information, creating reports and managing databases.  

To create an Annual operational calendar with reference to the University, School, external bodies / Collaborative Partners and central services calendars.  

To provide support through professional servicing of boards and committee meetings within the School as required.  

To oversee the purchase orders and travel arrangements for the School and to assist in monitoring budgets. 

To assist the Academic Services Manager with administrative support for periodic quality reviews in the School and interface with collaborative partners.  

To be an active citizen within the University willing to undertake and assist in University wide events such as Open Days and Graduation Ceremonies.  

To undertake any other requirements commensurate with the seniority of the post/as required by the head of department
