Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (Grade 9) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people in care receive the highest standard of support, advocacy, and safeguarding. As an Independent Reviewing Officer, you will oversee and facilitate comprehensive reviews of care plans, ensuring that they meet the individual needs of each child. Your expertise will help to ensure that the rights and wishes of young people are at the forefront of all decision-making processes. You will work collaboratively with social workers, parents, and other professionals, engaging in critical discussions that prioritize the best interests of the child. The role also involves providing training and supervision for staff to promote effective practices and compliance with legislative frameworks. Responsibilities
Conduct and facilitate independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices.
Engage with children and young people to understand their views, wishes, and feelings regarding their care.
Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on review findings and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with social workers, educators, and health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care planning.
Monitor the implementation of review recommendations and provide ongoing support to the child and care team.
Provide training and mentorship to staff on effective reviewing processes and child welfare policies.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration and experience in child protection or safeguarding.
Proven experience in conducting independent reviews within a children's services context.
Strong understanding of legislation, frameworks, and practices relating to children in care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families, and professionals.
Ability to analyze complex information and make sound, evidence-based recommendations.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
Commitment to promoting children's rights, welfare, and participation in their care planning.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £28.14
