Summary
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Academic Appointments is working in partnership with a number of Primary Schools across the Keighley area, and we are looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants to join our growing team of support staff.
These schools are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and cater for children aged 3 to 11 with a wide range of complex needs, including communication difficulties, sensory impairments, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and behavioural needs. The schools foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where children are happy, engaged, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN.
*Assist class teachers in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
*Help manage challenging behaviour with patience and resilience.
*Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
*Liaise with teachers and SENCOs to implement and review individual learning plans.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in a similar role in a school setting is preferable.
*A care background or experience working with children with additional needs is advantageous.
*Two references from educational or childcare settings.
*A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
*Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
