Summary

Fund raising and Marketing Coordinator - P/T Role, 15 hrs per week over 3 days. Short Term - 3 months in the first instance
Context: The Adult Training Network (known as ATN) strives to provide the best quality education and training to socially excluded members of the community who have little or no access to mainstream education. One of its main purposes is to build the skills and confidence of traditionally disadvantaged members of the community, including refugees and members of ethnic minority communities to support their entry into meaningful employment and further learning. In addition, the Adult Training Network strives to integrate learners into the social and cultural fabric of society at large. The organisation was formed to help address the educational disadvantage suffered by certain marginalised sections of the community.

Purpose of post:

• To work closely with the Managing Director to coordinate the marketing and community and corporate fundraising functions.
• To significantly increase fundraising income.
• To raise the profile of the organisation throughout London and increase stakeholder engagement.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Fundraising

• Improve upon and diversify ATN’s existing community fundraising strategy and activities
• Develop and implement a corporate fundraising strategy, building relationships with local businesses
• Organise a series of community fundraising activities and events, such as sponsored runs etc
• Formalise our existing relationships with Adult Skills providers to create a specific school fundraising strategy and then expand this to our other supporter groups, such as temples, community groups and local charitable trusts
• Lead on individual supporter relationship management to encourage long-term, repeat giving
• Write compelling applications for small bids
• Support the MD with larger bids, as required
• Develop a strategy for promoting legacy-giving
• Ensure our website and social media channels are kept up to date with fundraising news and ATN activities that inspire engagement and giving
• Maintain excellent financial records of all fundraising activities and provide comprehensive financial updates and written reports to funders, donors, MD and trustees
• Advise the MD and Trustees of ATN on updates from the Fundraising Regulator and any other key organisations

Marketing and communications

• Promote ATN to the wider public, local influential public figures (e.g. councillors and commissioners) and other organisations supporting and representing refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and BAME groups
• Develop and maintain the organisation’s website, LinkedIn profile and YouTube account, ensuring all content is accurate, up-to-date, relevant and compelling
• Grow ATN’s social media presence and followers, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, ensuring daily content is engaging and well-written and that comments and queries are responded to within 48 hours
• Use communication channels to support ATN staff to recruit and retain volunteers for each service
• Organise two volunteer appreciation events per year
• Organise at least two staff and trustee appreciation events per year
• Work with ATN staff to gather powerful case studies, stories, images and evidence for fundraising and marketing purposes
• Design and produce marketing materials in line with brand partnership guidelines, such as the annual report, newsletter and service leaflets
• Participate in ATN campaigns that are relevant to the needs of London residents
• Respond to press requests, as required
• Produce press releases, as required, to attract media attention and distribute to all relevant media contacts
• Apply for any relevant awards that will raise the profile of the organisation
• Manage all administration for the MD and ATN Board of Trustees
• Manage own administration in connection with the post, including word processing, data handling and correspondence
• Carry out all tasks according to ATN’s policies and standards, in particular on confidentiality, safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety policies
• Carry out such other duties as may be required by the MD that are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the post

The post may involve occasional evening or weekend work to manage events, for which time off in lieu may be claimed.

Travel within the London will be necessary when require
