The Governing Body of Coedpenmaen Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, and skilled Special Needs Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a key role for a compassionate individual who is committed to supporting the diverse needs of all learners through inclusive practices that align with the principles of the Curriculum for Wales. Coedpenmaen Primary School, based in Pontypridd, supports 213 pupils across 9 classes. We are proud of our nurturing ethos and our commitment to the Four Purposes that underpin our curriculum. The Successful Candidate Will: • Support the learning and development of pupils with Additional Learning Needs, adapting approaches to meet a wide range of individual needs. • Work closely with class teachers and ALNCo to deliver targeted support and differentiated activities. • Foster the independence, confidence, and social inclusion of pupils in both class and wider school life. • Uphold the values of the Curriculum for Wales by contributing to a supportive, learner-centred environment. • Positively contribute to the school’s anti-racism commitment and wider equality, diversity and inclusion agenda. • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing. • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to all aspects of school life. • Be willing to participate in school events and enrichment activities.
