About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Project Assistant to join our Rail Team in London.

Role Purpose:

  • The function of this role is to provide support to the Project Management team with document controls, meeting arrangements (internal and external) organising events, team resourcing, project procurement and quality assurance duties and ad-hoc admin duties.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure that effective administrative support is provided to the Project Team.
  • Provide administrative support to control documentation records, inward and outgoing through data management systems in line with project controls.
  • Support the Project Administration by undertaking a range of regular and ‘ad hoc’ administrative tasks including order processing, document controls, filing, stores controls, client paperwork and minutes to support the effective provision of project administration services to the project.
  • Work to exceed expected quality standards, comply with processes at all times and contribute to improvements.
  • Pro-actively support the behavioural safety programme & live the BB Values. Contribute positively to the achievement of high performance across the team.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Experience in construction and/or rail
  • Flexible, hardworking, good communication skills
  • Organisational skills, works well under pressure
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Strong Microsoft Package knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Experience of material inspection
  • Engineering drawing knowledge
