Summary

Environmental Health Officer
Full-time 37 Hours – Permanent
Grade C2, £43,516 - £47,559 per annum (Includes 17.5% Market Supplement)

North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced or newly qualified professional to join the Public Protection Team. This post puts you at the heart of a passionate and dynamic department which is critical in the delivery of the Council’s Public Protection services providing food safety, health & safety and licensing guidance, inspection and enforcement to businesses throughout the district.

Job Requirements:
• Degree in Environmental Health (BSc or MSc)
• Registered and accredited by the CIEH
• Work with and develop our primary authority partnerships
• Willingness to work with and support the team in other areas including animal licencing, private water supplies and external partnerships

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out routine and reactive food hygiene and health & safety inspections
• Work with and develop our Primary Authority Partnerships
• Complete private water, food and environmental sampling and associated investigations
• Supporting and helping the Authorised Officers

Key Attributes:
• Be creative with good attention to detail
• Strong visual and language skills
• Competent across all aspects of food safety and health & safety
• A highly organised and dynamic person
• Works effectively as part of small team

You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail and focus when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of the Public Protection Team at an operational and technical level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
